Thanks so much for stepping into this evening! I hope this helps give you some thoughts before you arrive. My heart as an artist and worship leader is to create space for people to explore the Kingdom in corporate worship. I had an older gentleman approach me after a service recently and said, “I saw God bigger than I’ve ever seen him,” as we worshipped. That’s the goal.

From the young man who said he surrendered to Jesus to the young girl, who—with tears in her eyes could barely get out the words “thank you”—when people encounter the presence of God, lives change. I believe the songs we are about to write are going to create Kingdom space where Heaven meets earth and eternities are transformed. I’ve included 3 main themes to lean into. Also a link to a playlist with a brief explanation about what’s on it.

Song themes to move toward:
The Greatness, Holiness, and Majesty of God
I love to sing songs about the greatness, holiness, weight, and majesty of God—songs that stretch our view of Him and leave us in awe of how incredible He is. Living in that place connects us with our Creator and with the purpose of our souls. There is nothing deeper we can meditate on or sing about than God Himself—who He is and what He has done.

• Isaiah 6:3 — “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
• Psalm 145:3 — “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”
• Revelation 4:11 — “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.”

God Reaching for Us
I love songs about God reaching for us—the cross, Jesus coming to earth, and God displaying His Kingdom in ways we can understand. These songs tell the heart of the gospel: the King came near, revealed the Father, gave Himself for us, and made a way for us to know Him.

• John 1:14 — “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
• Romans 5:8 — “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
• Colossians 1:13–14 — “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Our Response: Surrender and Redemption
I love songs about surrendering to God and being rescued by Him. When we say yes to Him, it is our response to His greatness, His pursuit of us, and His rescuing grace. Because of who He is and what He has done, we give Him our trust, our lives, and our wholehearted yes.

• Romans 12:1 — “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
• Luke 9:23 — “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
• 2 Corinthians 5:14–15 — “Christ’s love compels us… that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”
