For Chris McQuistion, music has never simply been about writing songs—it has always been about pointing people toward hope.
A contemporary Christian artist and worship pastor based in Virginia, Chris writes from lived experience. After suffering a traumatic brain injury while playing college sports, he spent nearly a year in recovery wrestling with questions of identity, purpose, and what life would look like moving forward. That season ultimately reshaped his calling, giving him a deeper conviction to live every day as an act of worship and to encourage others through honest, Christ-centered music.
That perspective continues to shape songs like “I Got Joy (Brand New Day),” “See Me Through It,” and “Fortress,” which speak to perseverance, mental health, healing, and the unchanging hope found in Jesus. His debut full-length album, Loved By The Great I Am, reflects that same message—inviting listeners into a deeper understanding of God’s faithfulness through every season of life.
Chris has collaborated with respected writers, artists, and organizations including Writing Worship, John Tibbs, Northeast Worship, Daniel Doss, Ross King, Render the Hearts, Kevin Winebarger, American Songwriter, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Hart. He has also appeared at Replenish Fest, Resound Fest, the Ark Encounter’s 40 Days of Christian Music Festival, and other events alongside artists including Colton Dixon, CAIN, Stars Go Dim, The Afters, Cochren & Co., Jamie Kimmett, Jonny Diaz, Guy Penrod, and TrueSong.
