Grace + Max’s latest single, “Silence,” arrives with a backstory that feels as current as it is honest—rooted in a moment many independent artists know all too well: putting yourself out there, waiting for a response, and choosing what to do when it doesn’t come.

Earlier this year, the duo responded to an open social media invitation from breakout artist Josiah Queen, who encouraged artists to submit verses for a potential collaboration. Their submission quickly gained traction, even catching Queen’s attention with a repost to his audience. For a moment, the door seemed open.

Although their verse didn’t lead to a collaboration with Josiah, the overwhelming response—and his repost—made it clear to Grace + Max that what they created wasn’t for nothing.

Instead of shelving the idea or moving on quietly, Grace + Max did something different—they kept writing.

What came out of that experience became “Silence.”

Rather than centering on disappointment, the track leans into the tension of unanswered moments—the space between expectation and clarity, between calling and confirmation. It’s a song that doesn’t rush to resolve that tension, but instead gives language to it. The result is a stripped-back, emotionally grounded release that feels both personal and widely relatable.

Sonically, “Silence” continues to expand the duo’s palette, building on the foundation they’ve been establishing in 2025. Following the releases of “Flame” (Jan. 30) and “Better Place” (Mar. 6), Grace + Max have steadily grown their presence across Christian music and media spaces. Recent appearances include New Release Today’s Behind the Song, Catholic Faith Network’s CFN Live (view), Cornerstone Network’s Unscripted Faith, the Christian Music Guys Podcast, CRU Radio, and Today’s Nashville with Terry Squires, among others.

That momentum now carries into this release, which is already seeing international support. “Silence” has been selected as Track of the Week on the U.K.’s Hope FM during its release week—an early indicator that the song is connecting beyond its origin story.

At its core, “Silence” isn’t about a missed opportunity. It’s about what happens after—when the noise fades, expectations reset, and the only thing left is the decision to keep creating anyway.

For Grace + Max, that decision is becoming a defining thread.
